Let’s twist again like we did last summer…
Confessions of an Innkeeper:
My name is Michelle and the time shift continuum of the last few months continues to keep me off kilter. I woke up in a blind panic one day last week because I realized I’d missed my annual Spring Cleaning week. Then I realized I missed Spring. My projects vary from season to season, so needless to say, I’m very discombobulated these days. I have two areas of focus keeping me (relatively) sane. Karen sent me a Pinterest photo that I now must re-create of a balcony decorating project. Yay me for getting out of my pajamas and doing stuff. The other is how much jubilation I’m experiencing since filling my time with a little surfing on the vocabulary game Knoword. It’s led to a bit of circumlocution, but it helps cure the boredom. I just need to figure out how to work sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia into a conversation. Beyond that, the summer heat has kicked in and I’m anxious to get back to work, back to a routine, back to people.
The IBB staff is back at it, getting the inn prepped for our re-opening. Staff, repair people, vendors – all coming and going this last week of June so we can welcome guests back once again. Fun moments include the staff questioning why all the light bulbs in a particular hallway were burned out only to realize we needed to turn the light switch on or that time that everyone forgot how to work our coffee pot. We’ve also become a socially awkward group and apparently when Karen said we all have to start wearing pants every day she was serious!!
