Confessions of an Innkeeper:
My name is Michelle and I do not actually enjoy doing laundry. Let me amend that statement – I enjoy folding warm laundry, freshly pulled from the dryer. I can take or leave the washing/drying cycle. But the putting away process is a chore I will procrastinate until the end of time. Or until I run out of clean socks. Chances are if I don’t put it away the minute it’s folded, I will simply live out of the laundry basket until it’s time to wash it all again. IBB staff puts away approximately 9,000 loads of laundry a week, but luckily, it’s all easy stacks of towels and sheets. I can handle that job. Welcome to our corner of the world.
There are a set of 3 trees that line up behind the back balcony of IBB. For about 15 minutes each Fall, they are in their full glory, completely covered in gorgeous leaves – one red, one yellow, one orange. It is a sight to behold. Every single autumn I set a goal to take the perfect photo of all 3 trees. And every single autumn, I miss it because a sturdy wind blows half the leaves off each tree immediately after all the leaves finally turn. This year is my year!
Each month on our blog we’ll introduce the title of a staff pick and the date to join our Facebook private group, The Innkeeper’s Book Club, for a virtual book club chat. If you’re interested in reading the book and joining the chats, please send a private message to the https://www.facebook.com/InnBoonsBoro/ page and we’ll send you an invite to join the club. No special password or secret handshake required, just some book nerds gabbing about what they like to read.
September staff book pick: Winter Cottage by Mary Ellen Taylor.
The Innkeeper’s Book Club virtual chat will be held on November 13th at 7:00pm EST.
Until next time,
